Daisenso-Goji is decent, but it isn't one of my favorites. It's like a watered-down Mosu-Goji; it lacks the more distinct features of its predecessor.

The '62 never clicked with me. Not sure why. If it had been used more than once, it probably would have.

But that's what I love about it. It's unique. Godzilla never looked quite like that again, at least not in the showa series.RabidGodzilla wrote:The '62 never clicked with me. Not sure why. If it had been used more than once, it probably would have.

That's true, but the most iconic good guy suit of the Showa Series was used for 4 films. Not saying the '62 suit isn't cool, but it just never did click for me.
To each his own, though. That's what this thread is for!

Yeah. I think that gave it a realistic quality. Like a real animal. He has floppy jowls (the southern word for cheeks)Godzilla 1995 wrote:The 1954 suit is obviously one of the very best, but another one I absolutely adore is the 1964 Godzilla vs Mothra suit. Always have loved this suit, especially the little thing with the upper lip that was always moving around which gave it personality.

I LIKE the suit from Ghidorah, but the MosuGoji suit is better.kaiju115 wrote:It was and then they sort of straightened it out for Ghidorah the three headed monster.

I have to go with Mosu Goji. I just love the look, it's definitely one of my favorite suits (if not my favorite) overall.

For the record, it's the same suit.RabidGodzilla wrote: I LIKE the suit from Ghidorah, but the MosuGoji suit is better.

But with a sufficiently remodeled face that it does merit separate discussion, I'd say.Rody wrote:For the record, it's the same suit.RabidGodzilla wrote: I LIKE the suit from Ghidorah, but the MosuGoji suit is better.

Just to kinda jumpstart the conversation, what do you guys think of the 1967 Son of Godzilla suit?

^ Ugly as hell. That's the only Showa suit I don't like.

I consider it the worst Godzilla suit period. It's chubby, ugly, and almost dopey looking. I know they wanted Godzilla and Minya to resemble each other, but Minya should have looked more like Godzilla to start with, not the other way around.

Re: Favorite Godzilla Suit of the Showa Series
I still think it has more personality and quirky charm than the KiryuGoji or FinalGoji, but certainly it's my least favorite prior to 2002.Rody wrote:I consider it the worst Godzilla suit period. Re: Favorite Godzilla Suit of the Showa Series
Does anyone know why Godzilla looked like he did in '66 while in the water, but by the time he made landfall looked like that?

Re: Favorite Godzilla Suit of the Showa Series
It was pretty standard all the way through the Heisei series to use old suits for water scenes, to avoid damaging the new suits.RabidGodzilla wrote:Does anyone know why Godzilla looked like he did in '66 while in the water, but by the time he made landfall looked like that?

The water made the suit rot, if I'm correct.
