Exactly.

I think the interpretation that is most true to the emotional intent of the filmmakers is that the big T big the dust.

The entire movie is elegiac in tone. It weeps, not for the loss of the past, but for the loss of dreams once held for the future. It is a testament to the fallibility of every human soul. Titanosaurus is a victim of its horrifying, hopeless message.
I think your looking into it a little to much...

Then either you're looking into the movie a little too little, or you're looking into my post a little too much.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

I've always considered Titanosaurus's plunge as a knockout punch. He probably swam away later to return to his lifestyle before he came under Mafune's control. That's the way I see it anyways.

Well, we have these few possibilities...

1. He was knocked unconcious after being blasted into the water, sunk and drowned.

2. He was just a figment of godzilla's imagination, he was truley never there.

But the most likley one is this

After being blasted into the water, he swam off, only to be later captured by godzilla419 and forced to do Youtube videos

But don't worry kids, Titano will always be with us, in our hearts

There was this fan film I was working on at one point where Titanosaurus was allied with "good" Kaiju, but I've since put it on hold to persue other things. If I ever get back to it, the poor aquatic dinosaur may finally have solace.....

but watching the ending I'd say yeah he's dead, when he got hit in the chest, sparks blew out, Im sorry to say this, but I think that was Titanos curtain call

A tragic end to a monster who really didn't deserve it

He fell off, and since he doesn't appear in Destroy All Monsters, which is in the year 1999 in the Showa continuity, I think he died, or just ran away from existence who knows. :eh:

Or maybe because DAM was made 8 years before TOMG.

^ Lol, I hate when that's thrown up! "Well he wasn't in Destroy All Monsters, so"
DAM came out in 1968, TOMG came out in 1975. ;)

Titanosaurus died, he was a disposable monster, and they disposed of him. That's that!

A better question is why Kamacuras didn't appear in DAM, my only assumption is because there was already too many wires being used to control monsters, and it would have only made things more difficult...

^ That, and Kamacuras weren't exactly formidble. Godzilla killed three of them in a matter of seconds. I doubt even the military would have much trouble frying them. They wouldn't have done the aliens any good.
