What Showa era matchup would you have liked to see.

I don't mean who would win necassarily, just a matchup that would have been cool to see on film.

Rodan vs Anguirus. They're the two main dinosaur kaiju besides G himself, and it's kind of a shame they never got to interact much with each other.

Ghidorah vs Mechagodzilla would be an interesting one. They're both powerful beam-spammers, but don't seem very good at taking beams. I'd be interested to see which would break first.

And I'd like to see a healthy adult Mothra take on anybody. The one that fought Godzilla was dying of old age, so we never saw what a Mothra in her prime could do against another monster.

Those are almost all the matchups I would have liked to see. Kong vs. Ghidorah would have been particulary interesting. I also see a lot of Ghidorah vs. Mechagodzilla. The two toughest bad kaiju going head to head would have been awesome. I wonder how a Rodan vs. Kong would have played out?

Instead of Kong taking on Ebirah, as could have happened, I'd have loved to see...

King Kong vs. Kumonga.

It's one thing to take on an enemy like that with atomic breath and regenerative capabilities, but Kong would be in for a one Hell of a battle (or better yet, several Hellish battles). Throw in a human plot as colorful and inventive as what Dr. Kusumi and co. had underway in Son of Godzilla, and it could have been a lot of fun.

This is a really good idea.

I also think it would be interesting to see Gigan & Megalon have to take on King Ghidorah.
