Stats: Standard Heisei Scaling.

Battleground: Osaka

Verdict: I think this one will be close. Both of them are brutal animalistic fighters that will go right for the skreeonking throat. Zilla has speed, agility and burrowing on his side, while Godzilla has physical might, regeneration and his atomic breath to aid him.

Ultimately, I’m leaning towards Godzilla on this, but this’ll be close.

[Breakdown]

I see Zilla taking the win here honestly. He fought and held his own against a superior Godzilla, even managing to draw blood. Early Showa Godzilla isn't that great of a fighter except for charging at an enemy and bear-hugging them. Zilla is faster, has very good awareness of what's going on around him, and can pretty easily overwhelm Godzilla in close combat.

This is a good matchup for sure. I am going to give it to Zilla. To be able to stand toe to toe for a bit against and IDW Godzilla is very impressive. 55 Godzilla is brutal but Anguirus isn't really a deadly opponent so if it took that long to subdue him I don't see him subduing Zilla. I see it going as both charging each other pummeling and wrestling like they do but Zilla will overpower Godzilla. I bet that's not something someone would expect to read if they saw that out of context!

Yeah, Early Showa, unlike himself 20 years in the future, is really bad at fighting and kinda stupid.

Trying to grapple Zilla and bite out his throat like he did Anguirus will not end well for Godzilla here, when ROE Zilla’s spines and claws are as sharp as they are. Early Showa Godzilla found himself outmatched by opponents much slower than Zilla here.
