This has potential to be good. I am not really a fan of Kristen Stewart but I don't hate her either, her haircut is ridiculous though.

Anyways consider me interested, I am always down for creature features an hopefully it's as good as the trailer presents. I do wonder what the creatures are.

As a sucker for killer creature flicks. I'm gonna see this but no way will this match the classics that all happened in 1989 that were The Abyss, Deepstar Six and Leviathan.

She's a badass can't you tell from her haircut? All jokes aside love creature features and underwater disaster or creature films so looking forward to this.

What from that trailer made you think this was about ningen? Looked like generic deepsea jumpscare monsters.

Ningen is perhaps the dumbest name to use as in Japanese it means human. And yeah the trailer doesn't show much.

Also, I have a nitpick, back me up here: "Ningens" in the thread title isn't a word, right? You shouldn't put an "s" at the end of a Japanese word to make it plural. Sounds weird as hell. "We were attacked by two kaiju while eating sashimi." vs "We were attacked by two kaijus while eating sashimis."

This looks the closest a film has looked to an Alien film without being an Alien film.

I'm meh on it until I hear more.

Eh, I like Kristen Stewart, I like creature films, I like underwater films, I like underwater creature films, so I'm going to check this out.

They spent $65 mil. on this, and they're releasing it in JANUARY?!? :eh:

January is generally considered a "dumping ground" for movies. This does not fill me with confidence...

Yeah, this thread title really confused me.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

New poster they just released seems to imply there's something much larger out to eat them? Or is that just a perspective thing. A giant mouth takes up most of the poster! Haha

If a 100-foot anglerfish doesn't show up at some point during this movie I'm going to be mighty disappointed.

I just got back from seeing this.

Decent movie overall probably one I wouldn't watch often and it definitely comes nowhere close to topping classics that are Leviathan, Deep Star Six and The Abyss.
Spoiler:
Its also nice it doesn't end in an downbeat as most of these kind of films do.

I also didn't expect this to eventually become an kaiju film near the end. Its not said but its strongly implied said giant tentacled creature is in fact Cthulhu.
