Yeah I remember seeing this when the BD first came out. I'm glad it was left out. I heard it was intended to make audiences think it was just one of Freddys victims dying while they were sleeping, but revealing later that it was actually Freddy himself dying... which could of been an interesting idea I guess. There is also one deleted scene that wasn't in the deleted scenes section on the disc that had Freddy super tall and wearing a black hooded robe. There's shots of it being filmed in the featurettes. But the actual scene has never been shown from what I can tell.
