Yeah after some research on the Internet apparently both the "sharkzilla" and the affor mentioned Gigan boots are knock offs by a Chinese toy company named "DaiMei", circa 1986. In case anyone else is looking. Only come in an approx 9" size. But two different color schemes for each figure. Dark blue or purple for "Sharkzilla" and a brownish/red or a yellow/green for the "Gigan". They also did a boot run of the standard "Imperial" Godzilla which basically just looks like a much shoddier version with really bad dorsal fins.

And yeah I realize it's custom painted in that one post, which is why I wanted to get my hands on one and give it a shot. Seems like it would be a fun project. There's quite a few "Sharkzillas" up on ebay at the moment but, since little Tokyo and Chinatown are just a hop skip and a jump down the street I'm going to see whats there first.

Regardless, thanks for the follow up :) it's appreciated

This is a fan made sculpture that I bought on ebay. Is there a better thread than this one to show it?

Well technically not a knock off more of a fan sculpted or a home made toy

That doesn't really qualify as a knock-off. It's just fan art that the creator decided to sell.

We got a pretty old custom item thread here, but I think there's a newer one lurking around somewhere.

Erm... Did I just come across a bootleg MMS Gamera?

The listing says it's about 10 inches tall, and made of vinyl...

I'd say it's a bootleg judging by those horrible fish eyes, yellow tusks, and lack of silver paint between the toes. Here's the original:

Whelp, over a year later, and I believe your wish has just been granted:

Both coming straight from the bootleg Shangri-La of Mailand, China. Shin looks pretty similar to his legit counterpart, aside from his stubby little fingers and the (apparently) articulated tail. Mr. Braindead Spacegodzilla on the other hand...
Please refer to me as jiggy22 (or just jiggy!)

Those have been around for a couple months now actually. It's noticeable that they are fake tho. Bootlegs have really gone down in quality in the past couple years

That fake Shin really isn't half bad (although what that says about the original figure is a bit disconcerting). He could be used well for customs.

I noticed some dealers have the fake Shin listed as being 30 cm....I am guessing they mean from head to tip of tail.
Pretty sure Bandai never made a 12" tall shin....?

Also,for those of you that want one..you can now get a knock off of the Bandai Shin Godzilla HG set;

Could some one explain what the fudge this is?

Did Bandai ever make a figure of the fake Godzilla 74?
Looks like this could be one,if the paint had been done differently;

There is a 12 inch shin, I think. I saw pictures a while back for one, at any rate. I don't know what happened to it, though.

And if that Mechagodzilla is not strange enough,the same dealer is selling this...guess it's supposed to be Gigan 2005;

Looks like a bootleg of a sofubi figure depicting Mechagodzilla shedding his Fake Godzilla disguise.

They did, for the Memorial Box in 2004, however this one is just the 74 figure with a retooled arm:

These are (strangely enough) bootleg figures of the game pieces from the old Godzilla Kaiju World Wars board game released by Toy Vault.

Thanks for the info.
I had forgotten that Bandai also made a fake Godzilla 74 HG,with replaceable MechaGodzilla arm.

That transforming MechaGodzilla is from toygraph. I've no idea if that particular one is a bootleg or not, but it's this sculpt:

Image
http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemL ... entID=1624

It represents MechaGodzilla as he reveals himself and sheds his disguise. They actually did a couple different sculpts representing different stages of his reveal.
