established controls.

| Garuda Goes to Adona Island |
|
Rather
than a standard transport helicopter being utilized, Garuda
is sent into action to ferry the researchers to Adona
Island. As it turns out, the isle is plagued by very
strong wind currents, making landing treacherous regardless
of the craft.

Although
the same intent, this scene in the manga is quite different.
In the publication, Rodan attacks the facility on
Adona Island that's holding the egg for
research. The giant pteranodon rips open the roof of
the complex and is ready to save the egg, but suddenly
flies off as he senses the emergence of Godzilla.

| Godzilla vs. Rodan and Garuda |
|
The
battle for supremacy between Godzilla and Rodan on
Adona Island sees a third party enter the fray in the
form of Garuda. The craft, which is attempting to flee
the isle with the egg, manages to narrowly defeat Godzilla
by taking the beast out to sea.

After
being defeated on Adona Island, the mammoth pteranodon
lays collapsed on the nearby beach. When researchers
stumble upon the body, they make a miraculous discovery
as to the creature's rejuvenating powers and how this
makes use of the nearby wildlife that is being drawn
in.

The
first battle between the two titans takes place underwater
here, as Mechagodzilla must contend with the beast

Commander
Kuroki, who was in charge of military operations in Godzilla
vs. Biollante (1989),
is injected into the manga adaptation of this movie and
fills a role different from Aso and other military
personnel that he replaces.

Likely
inspired by the early poster art created for the movie,
Rodan
shows a much more benevolent nature in the manga adaptation.
Not only does the creature avoid destroying the helicopter
carrying the container, but he later frees the professor
from it and spares her while trying to hatch
the egg.

To
match the more benevolent nature of the flying monster,
professor Gojo forcefully helps maneuver Garuda in
order to protect Rodan from Mechagodzilla's assault.

Garuda
ups its attack efforts, attempting to distance Godzilla
from Rodan and the egg while simultaneously hampering
the King of the Monsters by aiming for its eyes.
